A taxonomic account of the genus, Exomiotheca, and its local representatives, E. pustulosa and E. holstii, together with their distribution in southern Africa as currently known, is given. Exomiotheca megastomata is here treated as a synonym of E. holstii since no distinct morphological differences could be found between them.
