Die plantegroei van die Bankenveld in die Grootvlei-omgewing is fitososiologies ondersoek. ’n Totaal van 50 relevés is numeries (TWINSPAN) geklassifiseer deur van Braun-Blanquet-prosedures gebruik te maak. Daar is ses plantegroei-eenhede, insluitend twee variante, onderskei. Die resultate van ’n DECORANA-ordening stem grootliks ooreen met die plantegroei- eenhede, met geassosieerde omgewingsgradiënte van die Braun-Blanquet-opname.
